Alexandra Herst is a local landscape and botanical artist residing in Bantam, CT. Primarily working in oils, watercolors, and mixed media, her work endeavors to capture the natural and subtle beauty of the Litchfield Hills and surrounding countryside through expressive abstraction and a playful sense of color. She received an artistic education in drawing and fine art at the Taft School and is currently studying at the Watts Atelier through their online curriculum. Her previous projects include a naturally-dyed yarn business and a career in publishing. She has also become an advanced knitter over the course of nearly 2 decades of experience. These endeavors refined her sense of color, texture, material, and craftsmanship, represented in her developing fine art portfolio.
